Use cases in industrial operations

SenseDrive answers technical questions that are covered by your documentation, especially for the technical processes of plant installation, changeovers, maintenance, service, quality assurance and production, and for office departments that use the same documents. The platform answers questions from records of previous cases, from technical documentation and generally from information in files such as PDF or Excel. Every answer names its source, so documented knowledge can be checked and passed on directly.
01

Finding similar cases in maintenance

Situation
A plant is down, and the first question is whether a comparable case has been handled before.
What SenseDrive does
SenseDrive makes documented resolutions from existing cases accessible again and names the source.
Prerequisite
The cases are connected, and the resolution is recorded in them.
02

Preserving documented experience-based knowledge

Situation
Long-serving people change jobs or retire.
What SenseDrive does
Documented resolutions remain findable and answerable even when the person is no longer with the company. Whoever handles the case later finds the recorded approach in the content.
Prerequisite
The knowledge is written down and the sources are connected. SenseDrive can’t make accessible what was never documented.
03

Unlocking knowledge from files, images and scans

Situation
The answer is in a PDF, an Excel spreadsheet or a scanned document.
What SenseDrive does
SenseDrive extracts the text content of these files and names the passage where the statement appears.
Prerequisite
The files are stored in a location SenseDrive is permitted to access. For images and scanned documents, the quality of the results depends on the legibility of the original and the available text recognition.
04

Connecting source code, tickets and documents

Situation
The question is where in the software a function was implemented and what decision lies behind it.
What SenseDrive does
The platform combines source code, ticket and document into one answer and names the source for each part.
Prerequisite
The repository and ticket system are connected.
05

Passing on answers with their sources

Situation
An answer to customers, quality assurance or the next shift needs to be traceable.
What SenseDrive does
The source is passed along, so the basis can be checked without looking it up again.
Prerequisite
The recipient is allowed to see the cited source.

Questions and answers

You ask the question in natural language, and SenseDrive searches the prepared content across technical documentation, wiki and tickets for the answer. The platform names the passage the answer is based on. You don’t need to know beforehand which system it’s in.
SenseDrive searches the records of closed cases and names the resolution documented there, with its source. This requires that the resolution was recorded in the case.
SenseDrive reads the records of closed cases and, for a matching question, names the documented resolution along with its source. No separately maintained knowledge base is needed.
Documented resolutions remain findable through SenseDrive, even when the person who recorded them leaves the company.
SenseDrive extracts the text content from PDF, CSV and Excel files as well as from images and scanned documents, and names the passage where the statement appears. For images and scanned documents, the quality of the results depends on the legibility of the original and the available text recognition.
The platform combines source code, tickets and documentation into one answer and names the source for each part. This requires that the repository and ticket system are connected.
