Industries
Software for machinery and plant engineering
Machines run at customer sites, for many years and in many variants. SABO IT develops the applications that let these machines be assessed remotely and operated on site — for manufacturers such as KSB, SKF and Metronix.

Challenges
Typical challenges
The plant is at the customer’s site, and so is its operating data
Without that data, every service case starts with a trip to the site and a spare part nobody knows is the right one.
Experience retires
When an experienced service technician leaves, knowledge that was never written down leaves too. Service knowledge lives with people, not in documents.
One product line, many versions
Variants, retrofits and firmware versions coexist in the field. An application that only knows the current version is of little help in service.
Services
What SABO IT develops for machinery and plant engineering
Analyzing plants in the field remotely
Sensors capture condition data directly at the machine, a gateway transmits it, and limit violations are reported. For KSB Guard, SABO IT developed the frontend: the web portal and mobile app that make vibration, temperature and operating status at the pump visible.
Reading out and configuring machines on mobile devices
Operation in real-world conditions — with gloves, in noise, with one hand on the device. For SKF, we built LubSet: service technicians use it to configure a complete work cycle for lubrication pumps. For Metronix, we developed an application that displays the operating values of industrial servo drives and reports warning and fault states.
Condition-based maintenance instead of fixed intervals
Maintenance takes place when the operating data suggests it. You define which values trigger it.
Unlocking service knowledge
Manuals, inspection records and closed cases contain the answers needed when a fault occurs — rarely where people look. SenseDrive — the industrial knowledge platform for source-verified answers, on your own IT infrastructure — makes this content accessible without having to move it. If there’s no basis for a solid answer, SenseDrive says so instead of giving a substantive answer.

About us
Why SABO IT
We come from projects for industrial companies, not from consulting: what we deliver has to hold up in operation, not just at acceptance. We develop in your technology stack, and if needed, we plan the handover to your internal team as a project step. More than 60 IT professionals, software development since 1983, as SABO IT since 2012.
Let’s talk about your use case
A machine that needs to be analyzed remotely, a user interface that doesn’t hold up in operation, or service knowledge that depends on individual people — describe the case, and we’ll tell you what can be done.
FAQ
What software do machine builders need for field service?
Three things: insight into the plant’s condition from a distance, a user interface that works in front of the machine, and access to existing service knowledge. SABO IT has worked on this for KSB, SKF and Metronix: on the frontend for remote pump monitoring, on mobile configuration of lubrication pumps and on reading out servo drives.
How do you monitor machines remotely without replacing the controller?
With additional sensors on the machine, without interfering with the controls. Sensors capture vibration, temperature and operating status at the machine, a gateway transmits the data, and the portal reports limit violations. KSB Guard works on this principle; the web portal and mobile app were developed by SABO IT. The pump’s controls remain untouched.
Who develops operating applications for machines?
SABO IT develops operating applications for industrial use: for operation with gloves, in noisy environments and with only one hand on the device. Examples include SKF LubSet for configuring lubrication pumps and an application for Metronix that displays the operating values of industrial servo drives and reports warning and fault states.
How do you preserve service knowledge before experienced technicians leave?
By using what already exists instead of creating something new: manuals, inspection records and closed service cases usually already contain the answers. SenseDrive, the industrial knowledge platform from SABO IT, makes them searchable right where they’re stored. If the available sources aren’t sufficient, SenseDrive gives no substantive answer and instead states clearly that the information is missing.
Who owns the source code in external development?
The specification, documentation and source code from the project work belong to you. SABO IT develops in your technology stack and, on request, plans the handover to your internal team as a project step.
