AI-First Python Software Engineer (m/f/d)
At SABO Mobile IT, we build custom software for industrial and enterprise clients. Our solutions run in production and people rely on them every day. For the Software Engineer Python position, we are looking for someone to bring our AI platform SenseDrive to production level. SenseDrive searches repositories, Confluence, Jira, PDFs and tables and answers questions in natural language with sourced results. Under the hood it is a LangGraph system with multiple agents, a hybrid RAG pipeline, a knowledge graph and vector search. The product is already in use, now we are making it reliable, secure and scalable. At SABO, AI and human expertise go hand in hand. AI is a normal part of the work, not an add-on, and we work with it in an innovative and pragmatic way. We are looking for someone who approaches AI the same way and uses it purposefully in their daily work.

Your responsibilities:
- You refactor and harden existing Python services and establish clear abstractions and a testing culture (pytest, integration tests)
- You make the system production ready: observability (logging, tracing, metrics), deployments (Docker, CI/CD) and stable behaviour under load
- You own security: auth flows (Keycloak/OIDC), least privilege access, closing typical OWASP vulnerabilities, data isolation between tenants
- You find bottlenecks in the stack and solve them pragmatically and cleanly (FastAPI, Postgres, Qdrant, indexing pipeline)
- You also deliver features: agent tools, retrieval logic (hybrid search, graph traversal) and extractors of the indexing pipeline
Let's be honest: a large part of the work is understanding and improving existing code, not building on a greenfield. Count on that.

Your profile:
- 4 to 6 years of professional software development experience with strong Python fundamentals
- Hands-on experience with systems in production: deployment pipelines, outages, performance and security reviews, not just local development
- Solid understanding of security (authentication, authorisation, handling secrets, input validation)
- Experience with observability (logging, tracing, alerting)
- Confident with Docker, CI/CD and SQL databases. You read existing code carefully before you change it
- A pragmatic, quality oriented way of working: incremental improvement, tests, clean code
- English, confident in speech and writing
Nice to have:
- Experience with LangGraph or LangChain, vector databases (Qdrant, pgvector), PostgreSQL full text search or Keycloak/OIDC
- Experience with scaling AI workloads or building RAG or agent systems
- German is an advantage
