Software for packaging, process and baking technology
In food production and packaging technology, every standstill immediately affects batches and delivery dates. SABO IT develops software that works on the line — for manufacturers such as MIWE and OPTIMA GmbH.

Challenges
Typical challenges
What’s solved at one site stays there
The same machine type runs at several plants, at different ages and configuration levels. A fault fixed at one plant a year ago gets solved from scratch at the next.
Operated with gloves, in wet areas
Cleaning cycles and hygienic design determine what can be operated at the machine at all. Damp environments and gloves rule out conventional input at times. A user interface that impresses in the office is often unusable on the line.
Documentation is mandatory, not optional
In food and pharmaceutical production, batch traceability and documented interventions are part of operations. A second, unverified knowledge repository makes things worse, not better.
Services
What SABO IT develops for packaging, process and baking technology
Monitoring series-built plants across sites
We developed the MIWE smart baking suite: an IoT platform for professional baking technology, in use since 2015. Developed further rather than replaced.
Hands-free operation at the machine
OPTIMA GmbH runs its own AI assistant with knowledge about machines and production data. SABO IT developed the voice interface for use at the machine, as an upstream module, without interfering with the customer’s existing AI. Operators ask their questions by voice, in German or English, and work through fault scenarios from alarm to action.
Bringing together operating data from multiple plants
States, fault messages and histories in one place instead of separately for each plant, with the permissions that already apply in the source system.
Making fault knowledge usable across sites
Maintenance plans, fault history and closed cases become searchable, without a duplicate repository. SenseDrive — the industrial knowledge platform for source-verified answers, on your own IT infrastructure — unlocks this content where it already resides. If there’s no basis for a solid answer, SenseDrive says so instead of giving a substantive answer.

About us
Why SABO IT
We’ve been working on the same system at MIWE since 2015. That’s our standard: software that has to hold up in series operation — and a partner who’s still there afterward. Whatever is created in the project remains your property: specification, documentation and source code. More than 60 IT professionals, software development since 1983, as SABO IT since 2012.
Let’s talk about your line

FAQ
What software do packaging and food machinery manufacturers need?
Software that holds up on the line, not just in a demo: monitoring of similar plants across sites, operation under hygiene conditions and access to fault knowledge. SABO IT develops such applications for manufacturers like MIWE and OPTIMA.
How do you operate a plant hands-free under hygiene requirements?
By voice. Operators ask their questions out loud and keep their hands free — crucial wherever gloves, wet areas and cleaning cycles rule out conventional input. For OPTIMA, SABO IT developed the voice interface for use at the machine, as an upstream module to the customer’s existing AI assistant.
How do you bring together operating data from multiple plants?
By bringing states, fault messages and histories together in one place instead of keeping them separate for each plant — with the permissions that already apply in the source system. SABO IT developed the MIWE smart baking suite: an IoT platform for professional baking technology, in use since 2015.
How do you preserve fault knowledge across sites?
By making maintenance plans, fault history and closed cases searchable without creating a duplicate repository. SenseDrive, SABO IT’s industrial knowledge platform, unlocks this content where it already resides. If the available sources aren’t sufficient, SenseDrive gives no substantive answer and instead states clearly that the information is missing.
Who develops IoT applications for baking technology?
SABO IT. The MIWE smart baking suite has been in use since 2015, and we have been continuously extending this IoT platform for professional baking technology ever since.
